Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Honor the infinite love of Christ symbolized by His Sacred Heart. This novena is traditionally prayed in the nine days before the Feast of the Sacred Heart.

Act of Consecration
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, filled with infinite love, broken by my ingratitude, pierced by my sins, yet loving me still — accept the consecration that I make to You of all that I am and all that I have. Take every faculty of my soul and body. Draw me, day by day, nearer and nearer to Your Sacred Heart.
Prayer of Petition
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You. I fear all things from my own weakness, but I hope for all things from Your goodness. I come to You now with confidence, asking for this special grace:

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, I wish to make reparation for the offenses committed against Your most loving Heart. I offer You my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, in reparation for my sins, for the intentions of all our associates, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father.
Closing Prayer
Divine Jesus, You have said, "Ask and you shall receive; seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you." Behold me kneeling at Your feet, filled with a lively faith and confidence in the promises dictated by Your Sacred Heart to Saint Margaret Mary. I come to ask this favor:

The Twelve Promises
Our Lord made these promises to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque for those devoted to His Sacred Heart:
- 1.I will give them all the graces necessary in their state of life.
- 2.I will establish peace in their homes.
- 3.I will comfort them in all their afflictions.
- 4.I will be their secure refuge during life, and above all, in death.
- 5.I will bestow abundant blessings upon all their undertakings.
- 6.Sinners will find in My Heart the source and infinite ocean of mercy.
- 7.Lukewarm souls shall become fervent.
- 8.Fervent souls shall quickly mount to high perfection.
- 9.I will bless every place in which an image of My Heart is exposed and honored.
- 10.I will give to priests the gift of touching the most hardened hearts.
- 11.Those who shall promote this devotion shall have their names written in My Heart.
- 12.I promise you in the excessive mercy of My Heart that My all-powerful love will grant to all those who receive Holy Communion on the First Fridays in nine consecutive months the grace of final perseverance.
