The Annunciation
"And he came to her and said, "Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you.""
— Luke 1:28The Angel Gabriel announces to Mary that she has been chosen to be the Mother of God. Mary humbly accepts God's will with the words, "Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word." Let us meditate on Mary's perfect humility and openness to God's plan.

The Visitation
"In those days Mary set out and went with haste to a Judean town in the hill country, where she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth."
— Luke 1:39-40Mary visits her cousin Elizabeth, who is also with child. Elizabeth greets Mary with the words, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb." Let us contemplate Mary's charitable haste to serve others and share the joy of Christ.

The Nativity
"And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn."
— Luke 2:7Jesus is born in a humble stable in Bethlehem. The King of Kings enters the world in poverty and simplicity. Let us reflect on the virtue of detachment from worldly goods and the richness of spiritual poverty.

The Presentation
"When the time came for their purification according to the law of Moses, they brought him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord."
— Luke 2:22Mary and Joseph present the Child Jesus in the Temple. Simeon recognizes Him as the Messiah and prophesies that a sword shall pierce Mary's heart. Let us meditate on obedience to God's law and acceptance of His will.

The Finding in the Temple
"After three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions."
— Luke 2:46After three days of sorrow, Mary and Joseph find the twelve-year-old Jesus teaching in the Temple. Jesus says, "Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?" Let us seek Jesus always with perseverance and find joy in His presence.
